Richmond Depot Jacket Mid 1862-Late 1863
In 1862 the Richmond Depot Jackets became the standard type issue for the army of Northern Virginia. Short 1-1/2" stand up collar with a six piece, long waisted, square cut body and nine brass 'I' buttons. There is evidence to support seven and eight buttons front. The jacket is cut tight with cotton lining fitted with one inside pocket and full sleeves that have 5-1/2" cuffs. This type of jacket was trimmed with piping or tape, had epaullettes and belt loops. Jacket can be supplied with a rounded or square front. Available sizes from 32 to 54.

Our CSMC frock coat features as standard grey wool and cotton upper body lining with 7 Confederate 'M' buttons on the front and 2 buttons on the back of the coat at the waistline. Each cuff has 2 small buttons. An inside left breast pocket and pockets in the folds are standard. The coat is available either with the black or dark blue piping on the top edge of collar, down the front edge and on the inverted cuff 'V'. Available sizes from 32 to 54.
